Newborn twins! Not just one blessing, but two! Twins are so amazing. I have only been privileged of photographing four sets of twins. these were my youngest and fourth set of twins. I met their mom when she contacted me last year to give her personal photography lessons. Then she had found out she was pregnant and contacted me to do their newborn’s pictures. I was really excited to have her beautiful twins in the studio. I had so much fun chatting with the new mom and dad that the session didn’t seem to last quite as long as it did. They were my first session of 2012.

Of course they each got their solo debut as well…

Mom and dad chose this image to be on their birth announcemnets being custom made by in Chicago. Mom hand knitted the blankets for each of them while she was pregnant.

Happy New Year! I cannot believe 2012 is here already. I swear it feels like it’s still 2010. Where has the time gone? One of my resolutions it to keep up on my blog, but then again that has been my resolution EACH YEAR! I always get so busy September through December and then right around Christmas break I am pretty free and I take that whole week off and I just relax and actually BE with my family. I am behind on posts and I probably won’t post all my sessions, but I will post this session that was in November. It’s my newest niece! She is the definition of precious and I love showing her off. I’m in love and our whole family has fallen in love with this tiny new member to the Kelley family. It’s nice that my youngest is getting older so that I can actually enjoy and appreciate the newborn stage.

I found it pretty awesome that she was my first newborn in my new photography studio in Royal Oak. It’s perfectly fitting since her big brother was my first newborn that I photographed.

The session itself was kinda like a kid party. My husband decided that it was a good idea to bring our girls to the session. The first 40 minutes of the session my kids and nephew were running around wild with my props and ripping the backdrop and yelling. It was pretty hectic and I was excited when they all left to go to the play area at McDonalds.

I’m not the only one that loves this little cutie. Her big brother is pretty smitten by her too.

My girls got bunk beds and that means that we freed up a room for their playroom! I couldn’t wait to make them a playroom and now they are old enough to get one! So A’s old space had to get a few updates to make it work. I also had to modify B’s room to be more of “their” room. I love projects and have a whole new list for 2012 ;)

This is our tree branch wall art. I wanted to put more pics of A in B’s room so I needed to add some pictures to her wall. I got this idea from a photog out in California, Bre Thurston. I can’t find the actual post she had originally posted, but credit goes to her :) I took a branch that my B found on a walk with her daddy and I mounted it to the wall. I then used some raffia ribbon and hooks from Ikea and attached the photos. Of couse I had to rip the edges, because I love that look or torn photos in case you didn’t notice…

The rain gutter shelf! I made this a few years ago for my daughter. I found teh idea here. It only cost about $14, but you really need to install into a stud or use wall anchors. i did neither and the shelf came crashing out. It’s fixed now.

See that teal high chair? Me and the hubby made it. I found the plans for it here. Anna White is pretty much who I want to be when I grow up ;) Too bad I’m probably older than her ;) See the cute wall decal? It’s from Etsy, but the seller (who was from Michigan) is no longer in business. What a terrible loss that is.

My Ikea wall art display. I LOVE this and have wanted one since I first saw this idea. I never had the wall space, but now that the two beds are in one room I can proudly display the girls artwork! Love this :)

I got these little wooden peg family on etsy.com and I painted them to match the outfits we wore in 2010 when Mod4 did our family photos. I used teh 3D Ikea frame and glued the peg dolls to the bottom of the frame.
