about me
I have left the “about me” page blank or generic or corny for a few years now. I hate writing about myself and I am not so great at writing my thoughts down. I went to school for engineering and only had to take one composition class my entire time at the university, so I will just blame them!
Anyways this is torturous for me to write about myself. I will try my best, so just excuse my lack of pizzazz if my delivery is a bit off.
If one of my client’s ever approaches me on the street to say hi, it’s usually not because it is me that they recognize. Most of the time past clients will come up to me because it is my daughters that they recognize! This is mainly because I plaster my Facebook page with photos of my kids constantly, and it’s a very rare occurrence for my face to ever be in front of a camera lens. The other reason they don’t recognize me is that during my photo shoots I act and look like a complete fool while trying to make children laugh. Have you ever seen a photographer fall down, jump around, balance an apple on their head, and make possibly the weirdest noises you’ve ever head? No? Well then you have yet to meet me! I promise you that you will get real smiles, because the lengths I go to to make your child have a real laugh will probably leave you cracking up as well. So when you see me in public you’ll be surprised to see a woman who acts totally normal. “That can’t be our photographer… she looks completely sane!”
In reality my goal is to create real laughs and real emotions. I love working with families, because the smiles and reactions that children have with their parents engagement is priceless. I promise you that even if you’re happy with a photo of just your child, I will capture you as well in at least one image and you will end up buying and cherishing that image. I promise that you will be happy with your session.
I also want to add another comment just for your own piece of mind. Each one of the images in my portfolio is of a child that has either missed their nap, is cutting teeth, fell the night before and got a huge bruise on their forehead, is extremely shy, is having a bad day or just learned how to fake smile. So relax, have fun, and laugh at me. I promise that you will fall in love with your session.
